Published on POLITICO - September 30th, 2016 - On the Hungarian-Serbian border, a dozen families wait in a makeshift tent city for the day to come when they can make the crossing from Horgos, Serbia, into Hungary. Most, like Moshtaba above, are from Afghanistan and have waited here for the last three months.

It’s unclear when their journey to a still-unknown destination can continue. The only thing they are certain about is that they don’t want to return to where they came from.
